Q. Are there any benefits to my business ?

 

A. Yes, the risk assessment process will reduce the risk of fire occuring as well as making the work place a safer environment and complying with the required regulations and is acceptable for insurance purposes.

 

 

Q. Does it apply to me/us ?

 

A. Yes, it applys to all owners and occupiers of a business that employ five or more people and residential care/sleeping premises for five or more people.

 

 

Q. What do I/we have to do ?

 

A. The law requires you to carry out a fire risk assessment. On completion (if required to comply with Fire Regulations) to implement the appropriate/required measures to minimise the risk to life and property.

 

 

Q. What do I receive after the assessment ?

 

A. A fire risk assessment report of 40 plus pages in a bounded booklet with comprehensive details and photographs which are clear to understand.

A bullet pointed action plan is provided to assist you in implementing any measures that may be required.

A level of risk is provided which satisfies regulatory requirements.

 

 

Q. Will the local Fire Authority visit the premises ?

 

A. In most cases yes.They will give you notice and if needed we can liase with them on your behalf.

 

 

Q. What if I don't comply with regulations ?

 

A. Fire Authorities have a statutory duty to enforce compliance with the regulations and have the power to serve notice on you.
